History
The tide comes in with the moon,
no matter what you do
Stay still.
Ignore the flood cause of how slowly it moves
Get consumed
Build a house full of lies and try to deny the liquid supply steadily creeping inside
Then comes the mold and putrid rot,
in like a juggernaut
Pay for the pain your ancestors wrought,
while you pretend states' rights why they fought
The wood soaked through by the flow of fate
Walls collapse from the weight of your hate
Indignation "justified" by the past you create
Y'all so deeply entrenched that you won't ever escape
Falsehoods grow like weeds
Russian bots serve as seeds
Bury the truth in your feed
Water it with pride and greed
Go ahead, press it down
Watch it rise from the ground
Crossbreed it with an apple
Give it a nice crisp sound
A crop so prolific that were choking on memes
Share them all day, but you don't know what they mean
Tell us to remember the docile version of King's Dream,
so we stay sweet and serene in your tiki torches gleam
Yeah,
It's fascinating what the facists' saying.
Fake facts-fake news-to confuse you
What's what, who's who?
Listen to all that chatter, forget what matters, turn on your allies faster than President Plaster
That's how you lose you.
We don't listen to dedicated news crews.
In an electronic echo chamber you only hear your views
Keep ignorant, don't research the "facts" you spew
You have your "truth," and that's why we've lost what's true.
